				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Over the next year or so, we are going to be releasing projects like this to promote Christian music on YouTube. Live acoustic videos, songs, and more. This song is called &#8220;This World Can&#8217;t Hold Me Down&#8221;. It features my brother, Nathan Tomberlin, on percussion. Big thanks to my good friend, Elliott Eicheldinger, for producing, recording, mixing, and editing the video.<br />
<br/><br />
The song was inspired by the idea that this life, this world, is not our real home. Yeah, we are alive, and this is reality as we know it, but there is so much beyond this life. Our real home is with our father and family in heaven. So the song is almost a proclamation that I will not let the world hold me down from getting to where I&#8217;m truly going. Desires of the world, money, power, and fame, are all a false reality. They don&#8217;t matter. They are all produced from the emptiness and hopelessness that people feel, trying to fill up the void in their hearts and souls. True wealth is the abundance of happiness, contentment, love, friendship, and Jesus Christ. Fame is short and empty of anything tangible. Money is produced out of thin air to buy stuff we don&#8217;t need, which in turn produces debt, so more money is produced out of thin air to cover debt until we are paying on a fake wealth of only interested owed to someone else. And the biggest part, is that we can&#8217;t take anything with us to our true home except our soul. So know where your home is going to be. Live to love God and everyone else around you. This is wealth that will echo in eternity.<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hey Friends. This is a song called &#8220;We Can&#8217;t Stand&#8221;. I had the privilege to co-write this while with the group Finding Favour, as well as writer Jason Walker. I remember the write well- we were sitting in the room brain storming ideas for the write that day and went through a handful of ideas, coming short. Then the idea hit&#8230; let&#8217;s write a song about how the Glory of God is so strong, we can&#8217;t stand in His presence. There are times in our lives that we have no option but to kneel before Him.<br />
<br/><br />
In ancient civilizations when you came into the throne room of a king, it was usually required to actually lay down before the king with your face to the ground. This was the lowest possible point to show your respect to the king. This was the idea in writing this song. There are times when standing to worship the King with our stands in surrender is appropriate, and there are also times when we surrender to the King by the submission of our lives to the point where we can no longer stand before Him.<br />
<br/><br />
So, for 2013 I&#8217;ve decided to make an album. We&#8217;ve started on it already, but as of now I have no idea when it will be done- maybe towards the end of this year, or the beginning of 2014. I&#8217;ll be releasing videos like this one, plus a single or two&#8230;. or three on iTunes throughout the year. So be looking out for more album videos and new upcoming singles from the new album. Also, please be in prayer as this album is promoted on the web, Youtube, and other social networks. In doing Christian music, my first true goal and really the only thing I care about is to always see God bless others through lyrics and music, even if it&#8217;s only one person on Facebook from the other side of the world.<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve always found Peter&#8217;s reaction towards the large, confused crowd of people on the day of Pentecost rather funny. Even 2000 years ago, people still knew that it&#8217;s way out of the norm to be drinking early in the morning. You just don&#8217;t do it, or everyone around you will think you are a drunken idiot. Read Acts 2. If you don&#8217;t know the story, basically the group of disciples<span id="more-1357"></span> were praying in a room together and as promised, the Holy Spirit descended on them as a burning fire. They began to act much differently and speak in other languages. They acted so out of the norm that a crowd gathered to see what was going on and everyone thought they were drunk- out of their minds. So Peter stands up in front of the crowd and says, &#8220;They are not drunk like you think, it&#8217;s only nine in the morning!&#8221; I love this, and have always wanted to write a song that says that.<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last night I just picked up my guitar and started playing around a big. I don&#8217;t really know why, but started singing the nursery rhyme &#8220;Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star&#8221;. I could picture myself one day actually singing little songs like this to my new born. So I got curious and searched the history of this poem. I didn&#8217;t even know that there were more verses than the one. There are actually six different verses. It was written by Jane Taylor and the lyrics of the nursery rhyme come from an old poem published in 1806. Music is timeless. So I started to sing three verses that I found, wrote a fourth one, and wrote a chorus to give it more of a song fill- and this is what I came up with. It&#8217;s good practice, and fun, as a songwriter to take old public domain literature and recreate music.</p>
<p>Do you know why the north star is the north star? Because it never moves. If you look at the motion captured picture of the stars, the point in the middle is the north star. No matter what season, what night, or time of night, it stays in the same place in the sky. This was basically my idea for the chorus. It&#8217;s simply poetry with music, so let the lyrics of this little poem and song mean what you want them to mean.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just finished up with a run. I try to fun a few miles everyday to relax, relieve some stress, and talk with God. During my conversation, I began saying the Lord&#8217;s Prayer. Now, I&#8217;ve said the Lord&#8217;s Prayer too many times to count in my lifetime and have never forgotten the words. &#8220;Our Father who is in heaven. Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread&#8230;&#8221; and I stopped. I immediately felt His presence, and for the life of me could not remember the rest of the prayer. God wanted me to focus on &#8220;Give us this day our daily bread.&#8221; Christ told us to pray like he prayed- for our daily bread. God will provide for us daily if we trust in him. We only need that of one day. Christ didn&#8217;t tell us to pray for what we needed to live, and worry about the next day, and our business, and what&#8217;s going to happen next week or next month. &#8220;Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.&#8221; (Matthew 6:34)</p>
<p>This was important to me today. I trust in God with my life, but I&#8217;ve felt weird in my spirit all week. Maybe a little spiritual warfare along with the stresses of life- being a business owner and provider for my family and such. Every human has these anxieties and stresses. And while it&#8217;s easy for me to spiritually get over them sometimes, my humanity, my flesh, still struggles with everyday problems and stress. But, give us this day our daily bread. Not once in my life have I gone without. Not once in my life was I afraid for my life. I&#8217;m healthy. I have income. I have an amazing family. Am I only worrying about business, and stresses related to finances? Pretty much. That&#8217;s really not much to worry about. But at the same time I will say, that I have absolutely relied on God for everything in my life. I&#8217;ve come a long way in life with business, music, and my relationship with Christ. Nothing I have is a result of what I could have done without Christ, and His guidance. God has completely provided for me everyday, each day that I have lived. And I know from my own past, that He will continue to do so.</p>
<p>This was too long to Tweet, so I thought I&#8217;d write a small blog about what was on my heart. It&#8217;s completely human to stress, worry, and have anxieties. But that is our flesh struggling in life. Jesus felt these emotions too, as a human. But He taught us to counteract our fleshly imperfections and emotions with the guidance of God and His Holy Spirit.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just finished writing this song. I set on it for awhile and just now finished the bridge. As many of you know, I like to upload a video of these songs when I finish writing them. It&#8217;s good to get feedback on a song when it&#8217;s in it&#8217;s raw state. This song, or idea, was inpired from the life of someone I know- although I don&#8217;t want to share their identity. Basically, life failed this person horribly with the loss of a son, an affair from his wife, and other hardships- which all took place very close in time. Later his marriage was restored. <span id="more-1250"></span>This man is a real modern day Job. Tragedies are forgotten, and there is little that can be said or done to justify such tragedies. But people like this man and Job realize that God doesn&#8217;t cause tragedies or delight in our hardships- but that He is with us to help us mourn, to give comfort by His Hold Spirit, and to help us move through the human stages of loss and hardship.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What&#8217;s in a name? Well, for Louisa Stead in the late 1800&#8242;s, the name of Jesus is all she had. After a horrible accident where her husband drowned trying to save a boy in a local lake who was also drowning, she wrote the famous hymn &#8220;Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus&#8221;. Her husbands death not only left her a widow, but very poor and helpless. She then had to completely rely on her faith in Jesus. She later moved to Africa where she spent the remainder of her life as a missionary. <span id="more-1230"></span><br />

I was writing a song the other day that I wanted to call &#8220;What Power In A Name&#8221;. I had only written the verse and the pre chorus. When I began singing an idea for the chorus, the chorus for &#8220;Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus&#8221; just seemed to fit well- message, progression, and melody. Being that it&#8217;s a late 1800&#8242;s song, it&#8217;s public domain, so I decided to borrow the chorus of this great song. Many people get confused by this type of old poetic language, and sometimes we sing the lyrics to these old songs in church and really don&#8217;t know what we are singing. So here is a breakdown of the chorus:<br />

I haven&#8217;t demoed it, or recorded it at all, so you&#8217;re the first to hear it and comment on it. I think it cool to open mics of new songs and hear them in the raw in front of an audience- and what better audience than the web <img src='http://www.aarontomberlin.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  It&#8217;s based off of the scriptures John 3:16 and John 3:17.<span id="more-1197"></span> John 3:16 is probably the most famous scripture from the Bible of all time, but I also love what John 3:17 has to say. &#8220;For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.&#8221; This scripture really shows the love of Christ and His reason for coming here. He didn&#8217;t come to blame us, point fingers, and tell us everything wrong we are doing. He came in love to show us how we can have eternal life with him. <p>The commercial is great, but scripture goes much deeper. Now here are the first few verses of Matthew 6. The whole chapter is full of wisdom, as is everything Jesus says, so please continue reading the rest on your own. I&#8217;ve put two versions of the scripture here. One from The Message and the other from the New International Version. NIV is great in translating these scriptures, but I love how The Messages relates the scripture to our modern language and lives today.</p>

<p>The message speaks for itself. These words come straight from the mouth and power of Jesus Christ himself. A man, a God, full of complete and perfect wisdom. This type of message is a message that we as Christians tend to forget, but these instructions are just as important as any other instructions that Jesus gives us. Jesus is preaching in a time where the Jewish high priests are confusing their ministries, laws, acts of good deeds, and religion with their relationship with God. Most of them only knew to practice their law and had no clue what a relationship with God was until Christ came. During these days, and for most of the history of earth, religion, laws of the high priests, and politics were basically one and the same. But don&#8217;t we still use our religious &#8220;good deeds&#8221; to try to gain political success even today? And by political, I don&#8217;t only mean Washington D.C. I mean jobs, careers, ministries, popularity at school, popularity at church, all politics.</p>
<p>How many times do we confuse our success and abundant lifestyles with our walk and relationship with Christ? How many times do we do good deeds as Christians and stand before the world to gain recognition in ourselves so that we can feel more important and get a pat on the back for what &#8220;we&#8221; have done? Too many times. Too many people forget how to be selfless. Too many Christians still forget how to be selfless. But isn&#8217;t selflessness the first and foremost discipline that Christ calls us to do as believers? Isn&#8217;t this discipline what molds and separates our character from that of a non-believer? Isn&#8217;t this discipline that which creates a strong witness? Then why do many feel the need to gain popularity and fame?</p>
<p>Please be careful. Do not confuse your success as your relationship with God. Just because one has become successful in a career of ministry does not mean that their walk and relationship with Christ has become stronger. Our job as Christians is to make Christ famous. Jesus wants us to have good lives, be successful, enjoy what He has blessed us with, and live abundantly&#8230; but in His name. He did not have to give us anything at all. We are not worthy of His blessings. Just the fact that you can share the message of Christ with someone and live as a believer with the promise of Christ should be all the success you need to fulfill your worth as a human.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the book of Exodus, chapter 3, from the Old Testament of the Bible, Moses asks God what His name is. He does this because there are many gods in this time period. God is sending Moses to the Egyptian Pharaoh to ask for the freedom of His people and Moses will need a name for the God who is sending him to declare freedom. God says to Moses to tell the Pharaoh that &#8220;I Am&#8221; has sent you. The Hebrew translation for &#8220;I Am&#8221; or &#8220;I Am That I Am&#8221; is &#8220;Yahweh&#8221;. Yahweh is the name that God has given Himself. I Am. What does &#8220;I Am&#8221; mean? My human understanding for &#8220;I Am&#8221; would perhaps be found in physics or cosmology. &#8220;I Am&#8221; to me means ultimate; eternal knowledge; foremost architect; transcending time, space, and all matter, therefore beyond comprehension of human minds and physics of the universe and possibly multiverse. That&#8217;s the best that I can describe God&#8217;s name and who He is. The &#8220;idea&#8221; of no beginning and no end, always being there, is perhaps backed up even in science by the theory of eternal inflation. While eternal inflation is a very difficult theory for the average non-scientific person to wrap their head around, it does give notion to the idea of &#8220;always there&#8221; or &#8220;eternal&#8221;.</p>
<p>The idea that something came from nothing is an idea that has been scientifically debated on and philosophically thought about for a very, very long time. But there are two ideas of nothing, and we who speak English are unfortunate to only have one word for nothing. Nothing can be a nothing where there is no equations, no matter, no space, no time, absolute nothing&#8230; no God. Nothing can also be a perfect vacuum- a state where there is absolutely no matter. To me, this is the real nothing. There cannot be an absolute nothing where there is no equations, no purpose, no space, no vacuum, no God. If you believe in absolute nothing, you do not believe in God. Nothing &#8220;is&#8221; a perfect vacuum, the absence of matter, where matter does not exist, only equations and energy. Sometimes in this state of nothing, energy can briefly transform itself into matter&#8230; creating &#8220;something&#8221;.</p>
<p>This week I was <a href="http://winteryknight.wordpress.com/2012/04/29/lawrence-krauss-debates-a-universe-from-nothing-with-an-astrophysicist/ ">reading this debate and review</a> of the book “A Universe From Nothing” by Lawrence Krauss. I&#8217;m sure that all three of the men debating the ideas of this book are much smarter than me, but I do see a problem with their debate that occurs with most all debates. One guy is a theologian, one is a philosopher, and one is a cosmologist. Some of the guys do not fully understand the other&#8217;s academics. The cosmologist is calling the philosopher stupid; the theologian is trying to describe the Christian God to a cosmologist that doesn&#8217;t really care, and the cosmologist hates the idea of religion and the Christian God from a social cliche point-of-view, having no clue who the real God of Christians really is&#8230; or even what Christianity is really about. And how could he&#8230; he&#8217;s probably never read the Bible through, doesn&#8217;t go to church or even try to have a relationship with the God that Christians know. He (Krauss) while having great ideas on the creation of the universe, is putting all religions into one category with a God and discriminating against the whole idea. It&#8217;s just chaos. But at the same time, it seems that many Christians and philosophers don&#8217;t even give science a chance to explain itself either.  And since I believe that all science comes from my transcending God, I think we should let science talk&#8230; because God can speak through anyone, and anything. Krauss is an anti-theist. He doesn&#8217;t believe in God or think that God is needed for creation to take place. And that&#8217;s a perfect fine point-of-view coming from an anti-theist, but it doesn&#8217;t disprove the existence of God&#8230; it only removes the idea that God had to physically create our universe. All Krauss did in his book is talk about the idea of &#8220;something from nothing&#8221; which has little to do with proving God or disproving God. He has a very faint understanding of God. He is basically saying God and religion are the same, according to the debate. <a href="http://media.premier.org.uk/unbelievable/fec5de22-bec9-4a92-b9f9-6179236d05d4.mp3">You can listen to the debate on MP3 here.</a></p>
<p>Most cosmologist and physicist today agree that there was something before the Big Bang. In fact, many do not even believe in a Big Bang anymore. We are beginning to see that science, the universe, and God are much bigger and complex than we can imagine. Before now, people put God right before the Big Bang and said that it was God who created the Big Bang, or made the Big Bang happen from nothing. But I think we aren&#8217;t even close to finding what came before the Big Bang. I too agree that there was something before the &#8220;Big Bang&#8221;, or what we call our universe. And although I believe God is &#8220;I Am&#8221;, the beginning of all&#8230; I don&#8217;t believe that God &#8220;sparked&#8221; the Big Bang&#8230;. it&#8217;s much, much deeper than that.</p>
<p>One idea is that our universe is one of many that originates from the three dimensional &#8220;Branes&#8221;. Science would say that there are at least two Branes that are very close to each other, possibly many more. In between these Branes is a perfect vacuum of &#8220;nothing&#8221;. When these Branes move, they sometimes touch and collide with each other releasing energy and matter, creating a new universe. This happens all the time. Some universes might be connected, but for the most part all universes are completely separate from each other and there is no way to get from one universe to the other.</p>
<p>A second idea is that our universe came from a Black Whole, as did all other universes. A Black Whole is a massive star that has died and collapsed in on itself because it could not hold up it&#8217;s own mass. A Black Whole pulls in all time and matter to where the laws of physics and mathematics break down into one very small point related to the idea of eternal inflation or singularity, and explodes out the other side into a perfect vacuum, nothingness, creating a new universe. This happens all the time in our universe and other universes. So it&#8217;s possible that the multiverse is an ever-connected &#8221;ant-hill&#8221; of universes connected by wormholes or black holes.</p>
<p>Yet another idea is that there was no Big Band at all, more like a Big Bounce. As a universe collapses in on itself to a point of infinity, the laws of gravity do not apply anymore. We begin looking into quantum physics (very small physics) where gravity begins to have the reverse effect and repulses itself. So in this theory, our universe came from another similar universe or a previous state of a universe that collapsed on itself by gravity until it &#8220;bounced&#8221; and repulsed itself by the quantum gravity. I think this theory might fit well into what happens inside a Black Hole.</p>
<p>This final theory that I am going to talk about is my personal favorite. We tend to ask what happened before the Big Bang. But if there was a singularity of nothingness, then the idea of time and before was not yet designed. There was no &#8220;before&#8221;. To understand the &#8220;beginning&#8221;, you must first understand our &#8220;end&#8221;. Our universe is expanding and will continue to disperse and expand until it cools off and begins to become a lot of nothing at all. Everything will die off and burn out until there are nothing but photons left. Photons do not have mass and cannot measure time. There must be mass to measure time. Without time you cannot have a clock or sequence of events, and without a clock the universe cannot measure how big it is- therefore cannot keep track of it&#8217;s size or it&#8217;s time. All of time, space, and mathematics is broken down into nothingness&#8230; like the beginning. So the end becomes the new beginning. Both big and small are equivalent and the end of one eon becomes the beginning of another eon.</p>
<p>So where does God fit into all of this. I can agree with every individual one of these theories. They all tend to make sense to me and yet none dismiss the idea of God. Even in a perfect vacuum, or nothingness, there is still energy and equations. God did not have to create the beginning. God did not have to create what we call the universe or multiverse.  God wrote the equation for it all to happen. God IS the beginning. He IS the equation. I think the problem for most people is that they don&#8217;t have a real picture of what the beginning is, or what the first equation is. And since God dwells completely outside of ALL science and is the creator of the first equation, we can NEVER understand the science of who God is. In fact, according to my perspective of God, you can never disprove the existence of God because of this. We try to describe God, and we try to personify God into a being that we can comprehend or understand. Some might believe that science can disprove or prove God. BUT GOD CREATED SCIENCE AND EXISTS OUTSIDE OF SCIENCE ITSELF. I believe that God and all of &#8220;science fact&#8221; can co-exist in perfection. And yes, it takes a little philosophy, theology, and physics for this co-existence. I do not believe you can have one without the other.</p>
<p>But then the average Christian asks, &#8220;What about Genesis chapter 1&#8243;? What about the seven days? Science must be wrong. Yeah I know what you&#8217;re thinking&#8230; and the blog for that is coming next.</p>
