I’m Aaron. My life and career consists of God, Music, Web Development, & Entrepreneurship. I’m blessed to say I am an unashamed, unshakable, believer in Christ. I love God, my family, and people with all my heart. I also just recently got married to a beautiful girl named Katie and we have an amazing married relationship. She is the best friend I’ve ever had.
Music
Many of you already know me from AaronsGuitarLessons.com. I launched AaronsGuitarLessons.com in January 2009. I have been a professional guitar teacher since the age of 18 when I first began college. I instructed at a Music & Arts Centers as the contracted guitar teacher for 4 years.From there I began teaching at a local studio, then moved on teaching at a local church where I also work with the youth praise and worship band, instructing them on elements of music for youth church. Music teaching started out as just a college job. Although I did study music with a few professors in college, my major was not music. I taught music because I believe I’m naturally good at connecting with people and helping them find their strengths in music and exploiting them instead of teaching a narrow path in music that only a few will be successful with. Early on, music was all about the theory to me. Learn the theory, and all the instruments become the same- just a different way to play the same music. Since teaching is not going to be my life long career, I didn’t want to lose all my teaching methods and never teach again. Thus came AaronsGuitarLessons.com.
I now play in a Christian rock band called Finding Favour. I love the guys that I work with on a daily basis. I love the music industry. I love Nashville. I love God, and love telling people about God. So my career works for me- I guess you could say. My time spent with the band consists of songwriting, touring, playing guitar and keys, and singing back vocals. We are currently in the process of recording our new album for the next few months. We hope for a single release by the end of the year, or first of next year. I love the family we have built around ourselves in the music industry. There are so many people I have a relationship with that I am glad to say that I look up to.
Web Development
It’s always been a goal and dream of mine to be part of both the web industry and music industry. AaronsGuitarLessons.com was the first site that I developed. I started the project in December of 2008, then launched the site a month later.
I love WordPress and Photoshop. Those two key elements can create amazing sites. From an early age, I loved building my own computers, playing computer games indstead of console games, and loved learning web development- although I just began my web developing recently in life. When I had the idea for AaronsGuitarLessons.com, it gave me my first real opportunity to start learning WordPress, PHP, more in depth CSS, and the over dynamic abilities of web development. Since I had already been very familiar with Photoshop, I just basically needed to learn how to make Photoshop site design come to life. The majority of my personal website development time is spent on AaronsGuitarLessons.com, my Blog, and FindingFavour.com. I love connecting with people through the web- writing a live journal, sharing web development, and most of all giving free guitar lessons.
Hobbies
My hobbies are close and the same to my career. I just happen to love work, and usually my playtime is still stuff I am working on. My favorite hobby besides watching loads of movies, is learning. I’ve always loved computers, learning music theory, studying the Word of God, Theology, and Science. Learning more about Theology and Science together is usually confusion politically and sociologically, but it has always helped me open my mind to better understand the greatness of God and the universe, or multiverse.
I hope to one day have more time to study Physics and Theology on a more achedemic level. If you’ve ever seen Jupiter in a picture, then looked at Jupiter as a small speck of light through a telescope, then you understand how fascinating science can be. If you’ve ever felt or seen God’s power, His peace, or have become completely enlightened by His Word, then you know how fascinating God is also. I fell like I personally get to know who God is better when I study both His Word and His science.
I do like sports, but I like the fun sports like skiing, volleyball, racketball, trying to surf, and martial arts (I’m a black belt, bet you didn’t know that). I love physical fitness- running and cool workouts like Insanity. It think it’s important to stay as healthy as possible to add as many more days to my life as I can. Like I said, I got a lot more stuff I want to learn in my lifetime. I feel like I’m just getting started with everything I want to do in one lifetime. With the help of God, I’m content with life. Even though I’m not Bill Gates, I still feel like I’m the richest man alive. I have an amazing relationship with an amazing wife, I couldn’t ask for a better loving family, God completely provides for all of my needs, I do what I love to do for a career, I’m healthy, and I gladly boost in my weakness because Christ’s power is made perfect in weakness. I couldn’t ask for more.
